Power Of The Tongue

Life and Death are in the Power of the Tongue. Proverbs 18:21 NKJV

The bible tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. What comes out of your mouth will determine what your future holds. Let’s say for example you lost your job and you are finding it hard to make ends meet. You are actively looking for a job but nothing solid has materialized yet.  You get discouraged and constantly tell yourself (and others) “I’ll never get a job”, or “I’m not qualified for any job”,  “I’m not smart enough”, etc. You get the picture? grey Power Of The TongueEverything you think and literally speak is surrounded by negativity.  The power of the tongue here will “sink your ship.”

Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21 NKJV

My friends, are you are speaking defeat over your life? If so, then are you surprised that nothing positive is happening in your life with regards to your job search, your relationship with your spouse or more generally speaking in your life?

Here’s a suggestion for you. I know this possibly could make you feel a bit uncomfortable, but why don’t you start thinking and speaking positive thoughts over your life.  You can control the power of the tongue. It’s just as easy as being negative isn’t it? You use the same amount of energy being positive as you do being negative.  And nothing ever gets accomplished when you are negative. You will be surprised how things will change when you take this approach.

Make it a habit everyday when you wake up to give thanks to God.  Surely there’s something in your life to give thanks for. Start your day off on the right foot for a change. With the power of the tongue, speak positive thoughts over your life. Activate God’s power and grace by inviting Him into your life. Find time to establish a relationship with God and get to know Him. The more you get to know the True God, the more you will be empowered to turn your life around. Well how do I get to know Him you ask? For one, follow our blog and read the articles on our site. Make a conscious effort when you feel discouraged or down about the way things are going, turn to God’s word and feed on it. Seek first the kingdom of God.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.Matthew 6:33

Your life WILL change for the better, perhaps not overnight but it will change. I know this because it has for me. Let me be your testimony that God always delivers what He promises. In the meantime, come to God as you are, make Him a daily part of your life and begin living an abundant life.

  1. Our words are so powerful that where we are today is a fulfillment of what we said yesterday. Our tomorrow is largely depended on things we are saying of ourselves today. Words are self fulfilling in nature.
