Why Do We Believe In A God We Cannot See

Why Should We Believe In A God We Cannot See

Soon after Jesus resurrected, He appeared to His disciples and instructed them to go out into the world with the good news that God had forgiven all the sins of men, and eternal life awaited all who would believe. On that day however, one of his disciples, Thomas, was not with them. Why Should We Believe In A God We Cannot See

When the other disciples told Thomas that the Lord was risen from the dead and had appeared to them, Thomas did not believe them. The story goes something like this:

“So the other disciples told him (Thomas), “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” A week later his disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.” (John 20:25-29 NIV)

How Can We Believe In A God We Cannot See?

Many people have asked, “How can we believe in a God we cannot see?” Yet the Bible tells us that the existence of God is made plain throughout all of nature.

“For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification, Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened.” (Romans 1:20 & 21 AMPLIFIED BIBLE)

When God appeared to mankind in the form of His Son Jesus,

(“God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself.” 2 Corinthians 5:19)

the world at large still did not accept or believe in Him. He healed terminally ill people, He even raised the dead on several occasions, yet they still refused to believe Him. What should God do than? Should He exercise His great might and power and appear to us like some Genie out of a lamp and fill the sky with His presence in order to get us to believe?

If men do not believe in God when everything around us testifies of His existence, than even if He appeared to them in the greatness of His might and power, they still wouldn’t believe; and those who did would do so out of fear of Him, not out of love for all that He has done to win us back to Him after our first parents elected to reject Him in favor of being their own gods.

And for all those in the scientific community who would try to get us to swallow that there is no God, (and ask how can we believe in a God we cannot see) but rather that we evolved out of a succession of cosmic accidents, the Bible has only one thing to say, in fact it says it twice:

“The fool hath said in his heart, “there is no God”.” (Psalms 14:1 & Psalms 53:1)

And if you are among those who prefer to align themselves with the idea that our existence came about as a result of time, evolution and a succession of cosmic accidents, consider this, even those in the scientific community who would have us believe this mindless tripe, admit that the odds that life came about as a result of a succession of cosmic accidents, are approximately the same as Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary coming into existence as a result of an explosion in a printing shop.
The Apostle Paul summed it up this way:

“We walk by faith, not by sight…”(2 Corinthians 5:7)

Help Me God – Lord Please Help Me

Help Me God, Lord Please Help Me Change My Life

Help me God, Lord please help me you are asking? If you are reading this please know your steps have been directed by God. He led you here. How do I know that? I was in your position where I was crying out “Help me God with my life. Please help me God get rid of the pain and god please help

depression.” Basically I was asking the same question, “Help me God for just about everything. It wasn’t until I realized that God was by my side all along that all I needed to do was allow God into my life. That’s it really. I took an active role in seeking God. I was the one who knocked on His Door and He opened it for me and my family. You see my friend, when you seek God (like you are now), even in the most subtle way, you “activate” your faith and God recognizes that and intercedes on your behalf. If you want to turn your life around you will need to make God first place in your life. This is the beginning of your journey in Christ.

Help Me God – I Have No Peace In My LIfe

How Can I Find God

How Can I Find God

In the heart of every human being is a God-shaped void. A void that can only be filled by the God who created us. Churches around the world are filled with people crying out “how can I find God”. And though God is completely aware of us down to the finest details of our lives, for a variety of reasons, many cannot seem to “find Him”.

Help Me Find God

Depending on others to help one find God is doomed to be a futile venture. This is because, God is not lost. In fact, if our spiritual eyes were opened, we would find that God is surrounding us every moment of every day, waiting for us to invite Him into our lives. Contrary to what many churches teach, and what many people erroneously believe, God is not sovereign in our lives unless we want Him to be, and make it known to Him that we How Can I Find God

do.

In the third chapter of Revelation verse 20, Jesus said, Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

Finding God Is Easy

Kind of amazing that the One who created all things, including us, is putting forth an invitation like this. Obviously, if He is standing at the door of your heart, you don’t need to go looking for Him. If God is knocking, then it must be up to us to open the door to let Him in. The problem with the request, “How can I find God”, is that in reality, no one can help you find Him because He is always there with you.

Finding God is easy, learning what He is like is another matter. As in any relationship, the only way to get to know someone is to spend time with them. And there is one prerequisite God has for getting to know Him, God said, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

God wants you to get to know all about Him. He has completely revealed Himself through Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “he that has seen me has seen the Father”. All that we need to know concerning what God is like was revealed through Jesus. If you really want God in your life, get to know Jesus. As He said, He stands at the door of your heart and knocks. All you have to do is talk to Him in prayer, He will do the rest.

Keep in mind, as in any relationship, it will take time for you to get to know Him. But if you are faithful to seek above all things to get to know Him, He will surely reveal Himself to you, and you will never again have to say, “Help me find God.”

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” – Matthew 7:7 & 8

Giving Thanks To God For His Blessings

Giving Thanks To God For His Blessings

Giving Thanks To God For His Blessings-Show Gratefulness To The Lord

How Can We Show Our Gratefulness To The Lord – Are you presently giving thanks to God in all of your present life-circumstances? This may appear to be tough at first, especially when you’re experiencing a stretch of difficulty.

The bible says (1 Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV) “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Note that this verse says give thanks in everything NOT to give thanks for everything . Today, regardless of what problems you may be facing, try to find something to be thankful for.

Focus on the goodness of God rather than what’s not good in your life. As soon as you change your way of thinking and begin giving thanks to God, it paves the way for God to move on your behalf.

That’s why it says “this is God’s will for you.” He wants you to draw close to Him to receive His love and strength by offering thanks. That’s why we must always have the attitude that says, “God, despite what’s happened, I choose to remain grateful. I may be in poor health, but Father, thanks for being my strength. Thanks for giving me great family and friends.” Or, “I may be struggling in my relationship, but God, thanks for being there for me. Thank you for giving me another day.

Whenever you give thanks in everything, you’ll see God’s power move for you personally, and you’ll leave that problem far better off than before.
